    Xp Sp3

Anyone applied SP3 for XP yet?

Auto updates just prompted me to download it but I want to hold off until I know what's happened to other people first

    Anyone got anything to report?

    Good?

    Bad?

    Ugly??

Not having installed myself for obvious reasons, I'm going to take a punt on "ugly" being as it was delayed because it even managed to break Microsoft's own software.

I thought that was the Vista SP.

Isn't XP SP3 just a total of all WUpdates since SP2?

I believe not - IIRC it adds some Vista features, and removes at least one XP feature (albeit one that I've never seen used or been aware of, and which sounds so utterly retarded that I can't imagine why they added it in the first place).

“Adding Vista features” only sounds like a world of pain to me. If it’s anything like when they brought out SP2 and the new firewall/security features then we’re in for a bumpy ride..

Can someone hurry up and install it please – I want to know what happens.

          Thanks.

I used to use that feature. Was quite handy for a while

              Thanks.
I have it installed on a VM - can't say it appears any different to SP2..

                Updated my PC last night.

On first glance it still works, and I have yet to spot any difference (apart from re-running the auto update config on reboot).

I'm gonna hold off for now as I'm not interested in bombing my development machines and server just now. I may never apply it I'm so paranoid about it!

I've just installed it. Nothing bad's happened so far.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
