Do you actually know what your security key is? (point 2)"If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier" -
Most likely you either have the passoword/security key wrong - try tying it in again - or the security on the Orange box is messed up. Thye do have a habit of havinf both WEP and WPA enabled at the same time and this causes problem. Turn off the security on it and try again. If that works it gives you somewhere to start from.

Could be that the livebox has been previously used and someone has already set up a wep/wpa key, that’s why its so important to set these up with a wired connection.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Or reset it to factory default. This turns security off so that you start from a clean slate..."If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier"Comment

The only key I have is the livebox security code - I tried that and it didn't work..... the only other thing I have is my sign-on passwordOriginally posted by daviejones View PostDo you actually know what your security key is? (point 2)
It's Deja-vu all over again!

But I can't set it to factory default unless I use a wired connection...which I can't get because my ethernet port isn't workingOriginally posted by daviejones View PostOr reset it to factory default. This turns security off so that you start from a clean slate...

There should be a switch on it somewhere to do this. The Belkin ones use a combination of the little reset button and the power button to do a hard reset....should be in the instructions.....Originally posted by KathyWoolfe View PostBut I can't set it to factory default unless I use a wired connection...which I can't get because my ethernet port isn't working"If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier"Comment

You realise that there are actual specialist Orange forums that will help you sort this out. I realise it will mean signing up which is annoying - but they may also help you sort your problem faster than we could.
Not to bully, but I don't think anyone of us is an expert on the Orange Livebox.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."
