    Reuters Dealtracker

Anyone know much about dealtracker? I have an issue with a number of guys, where they are intermittenly prompted for their network password. Any ideas?

From past experience (although its been a while) there aren't any other market data guys on here and that question is far to niche for this board - your best bet... phone the Reuters Dealing hotline!

Probably the firewall or proxy server (not my areas of expertise I'm afraid) killing the connection after some time?

I use ADVFN real-time feeds at work and occasionally get asked to enter the network login again.

Dont know the specific package but it sounds like a network timeout. Where the problem is depends on the netowrork config. Are you using AD, NT Domains, Novell? Is it always the same people having the problem?

Accounts can time out due to inactivity in some setups. Talk to your network/server support guys, assuming you have any and it's not you.

It's AD and it's multiple guys. One of those situations where it happens randomly i.e 3 times in a row then fine for 10minutes so don't think it's a timeout issue. Logged call with Reuters, but they are clutching at straws "have you tried rebooting your PC"? You f**king what now?!

To be honest it sounds like a networking problem. The client is loosing its connection to the server for whatever reason and then having to reauth again.

Get the local network monkey to do some diagnostics, maybe you have a dodgy switch in there somewhere...

All the Reuters IT has been outsourced to India, with just a skeleton IT team left in London.

You're right to phone Reuters. They can be slapdash but their helpdesk has long become adept at dealing with their slapdatulipude. Lost count of the times I've had to e.g. phone up on the first of the month and persuade them that it's now a new month and they should therefore move their monthly futures prices out.

If it's the same people each time then it's probably an account config issue specific to those users. If it's random people within a group then it sounds like network connectivity problems. Get your networks guys to check whats going on.
