    Can't load facebook.com homepage?

Strnge thing happening the last two days when I try to get into Facebook. I have no problems with any other websites, only this one. Googling hasn't been very helpful as this is only facebook.com that is not working. Seems odd to me, but here's the error message -

    In Firefox latest version -

    Secure Connection Failed

The connection to www.facebook.com was interrupted while the page was loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem.

    In Chrome, latest version -

This site can’t be reached www.facebook.com unexpectedly closed the connection.

    Try:

    Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
    Running Windows Network Diagnostics
    ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

Any ideas what to check please? Windows 10 1803 by the way.

Edited to add - Laptop is hanging off a WiFi hotspot from my 4G phone. Phone has no issues loading FB. This issue started yesterday.

    Thanks.

    Bloggs.

      In Firefox go to here:

      chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

Then put in Facebook – log in or sign up in the location field.

      Then Get Certificate.

OK, I just noticed that my previous reply got auto-formatted.
the site you should search for in the location field is:
            https:// facebook . com
            (without the spaces)

Thanks, yes, that's exactly what I did. Tried again, same result.

Thanks for the support, much appreciated.

                silly question:

What is the time setting on the pc?
What is the time setting on the phone?

If they are both running on the local time zone in Oz, you should be OK.

Nothing changed though. Has been OK like this for many months. Phone has Oz time. Laptop has two time zones, UK and Oz. I think the only change was a Firefox update yesterday which may have screwed things up. Edit - Set PC to local time, still the same.

The FF update may have removed all your existing certs. Try forcing the computer to Oz time as default, then reboot, then try again.

                    (sorry)
