    Updating Apache server

So, client co. has a very out of date Apache installation currently running on v2.4.6 (circa 2013). It's supporting a high profile business process. They need to get it updated to the current release, 2.4.29.

Does anyone know if a direct upgrade is possible or will it require multiple incremental upgrades / reinstallation?

Is this to fix vulnerabilities. I believe you don't need to upgrade it, just patch against the findings. Interesting view on it here.

Unless there is another reason to upgrade.
