    Digitising old negatives

Anyone have any experience of getting old photo negatives 'scanned' so that the pictures can be viewed/printed etc.

I recall there was a poster on here (n5gooner?) who did this as his plan B.

Yes, it was n5gooner, and the website is digiscan, 35mm Slide, negative or photo scanning to CD or DVD

Back in 2010 he promised a 10% discount to CUKkers on at least one of his services: http://forums.contractoruk.com/gener...-n5gooner.html though whether that offer is still open is anybody's guess.

      Cheers Nick.

Hmmm, the all in one scanner/printer/thingy reckons it can scan at 9600 DPI....

Some googling suggests it's possible to use a DSLR but it looks like a bit of a faff tbh.

The inexpensive scanners don't look up to much either.

I'd agree, I did quite a bit of investigation recently.

So in the end I bought a Doxie 6x4 portable scanner and scanned in my photos (not negatives). 9600dpi isn't what I'll need when I'm a drooling old saddo looking through old photos.

          What's the image quality like?
