Will be clocking off around 4pm. HWMBO arrives around 4.30-5pm. My hotel does free early evening drinks for residents about 5pm so we'll be partaking of those, as it would be rude not to.

Due to staying up fairly late last night watching civilisation collapse, I’m more shambolic and disorganised than usual today, which is saying something. Despite that, I should be getting to Manchester about 5. Hotel’s two minutes away from the station, and Pie & Ale about five minutes from there, so I should easily be ready for a 6pm kickoff

I've decided to just camp out at this Premier Inn I'm at, then I'm going to move over to the Piccadilly one somewhere around lunch

I've just kicked off a job that'll take about 2 hours to run, so I think I'll nip out and get some more of my wife's shopping list.

Train chaos!

Luckily I have an open ticket and the Internet. Now heading to Derby, thence to wherever seems best; probably via Stoke. It’s an adventure of sorts
