Actually there is a book called something like 'the career programmer' or 'Guerrilla Guide to programming' that and Joel's stuff will help even if you're not a programmer or in any way techie, like if you're a PM.

Wonder why CUK hasnt come out with a book yet?

Good beginners books?

Hi,

I am in the process of wanting to move into contracting within the next 6 months and have been looking for some bedtime/on the train reading. Can anybody recommend any good reads to prepare me for the future? Not looking for any specific areas, just the whole picture. Any advice is very welcome! Amazon seem to have a few popular ones, however the published date seems to be a few years ago.

Thanks for the help.
