My checking shows Paystream bought them in summer 2014.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostInteresting.. (or not) that they are here in Manchester, specifically Mansion House, Manchester Rd, Altrincham, WA14 4RW which rang a bell. Also happens to be the registered address for Paysteam and their 1000+ dissolved secreterial companies. Coincidence they are both in the same building?
Further digging shows Paystream and Focused share the same directors.
I've no idea how these things work but it looks like it's a re-skinned Paystream or something.
Beyond that I don't think it matters we are talking about Paystream that wins awards as best large umbrella and Focused that wins the mid sized umbrella award.

To avoid any confusing the umbrella is as follows
https://focusedumbrella.co.uk/
So based on the above it's ltd co? And other things to be weary of and anyone use them to provide a referral?
Thanks

Focused Umbrella is the trading name of Focused Consulting Limited. It's always worth going to the FCSA or similar membership site to get the details.
https://fcsa.org.uk/fcsa-member/focused/
Would be nice if they contained enough bank information (bank name, last 2 digits of sort code and last 3 digits of account no) to make cloning impossible but hey I've only been suggesting that since the clone umbrellas first appeared.

Focused Umbrella is NOT a limited company. Focused Consulting Limited is a Limited Company (obviously), and it is based in the same building so I presume it’s run by the same people.
My advice is only use an umbrella if it is a limited company - who knows what is going on with your money if it isn’t?
