Nest has relatively high contribution charges but the annual management charge is lower than others - so if you are intending in leaving it in there for a while, then probably not a bad idea, plus remember it is the only real legitimate way to reduce the tax and NI for the assignment with the brolly.

NEST pensions tend to have somewhat higher fees than SIPPs but putting some money into a pension is rarely a bad idea as they are very tax efficient and your future self will thank you. You can always transfer it to a different scheme at a later date.

I'm working through an umbrella company/
They are using NEST for pensions? Anyone else using NEST...am thinking not to bother as it is a fairly short term role and not worth it for a few weeks if the role doesn't extend...
