Toffo - did you (or anyone else) have any dealings with Advance in the end? They are one of my choices for a potential Inside contract.
I had a call earlier with one of the other umbrella choices today, and I feel dirty after just speaking with them...

ADVANCE, has very little on-line exposure (apart from their own website and 2 good/2 bad reviews on Offpayroll.org), with no reference on this forum at all.
Does anyone use or have any pertinent info about this brolly?

I would always pick up the phone and give them a call to see how you feel with them... are they able to answer all of your questions comprehensively and do you feel comfortable with them?

I'm currently speaking to a lot of umbrellas (reasons why will be obvious soon when we finally launch). As I talk to them one thing I ask is who else (who are trustworthy) should I be speaking to

Advance never come up on the list of people to speak to and often come up in the next question.

Oh missed this before so sorry for the late reply.

Advance like to offer expenses (due to not being under SDC) to maximise both your income and their profit were you not able to claim the percentage they set aside for expenses.

Personally I wouldn't recommend them but they do fulfil a niche if you need to claim expenses consistently, the end client isn't paying them directly and you want someone else to take (some of) the risk.
