Business broadband recs.

So far the broadband has been just Okay. Getting a lot of disconnects which means my speed has gone down to .5 from .7.... Annoying as with Be we rarely got disconnect. Mind you Be wasn't using PPPoA so that may have made the difference..and I think they had ADSL2+ Annex A to try and boost the speed a bit.

Essentially relying on BT to run the broadband means you're stuck with how they judge the max line speed.

Went for the BT Business Infinity option 2 Unlimited and got £210 as a welcome to BT Business gesture.

still tapping my toes waiting for FTTC to come on.. makes me frustrated as been promised here for over six months. BT probably putting brakes on to squeeze more money from the county council.

Office not likely to get FTTC at all as line is direct to CO.

I always recommended ADSL24 with whom I have a rolling one month contract, costs £30.90 inc. VAT each month for Business Broadband, with lower contention, gets me better speeds.

I now get more data allowance and the line has just got faster, 17Mbps down, 1Mbps up

They say there will be none but my ratio now is not to bad as I can get 50-60mb down load wireless and about 70-75mb wired.

Plus net seem to do a good deal...

I am thinking of doing this, as my accountant says I cant put through my home BT infinity as a business expense unless its in the company name.
I'm classed as a heavy user (276GB pm) So I got a quote from BT for their Business Broadband:

BT Infinity Advance Support Option 2 (unlimited usage, up to 80mb download & 20mb upload) - £37.00 ex vat

Business line - £18.00 ex vat

Caller Display - £2.90 ex vat

Bt Answer 1571 - Free

Total = £69.48 inc VAT

"That's nearly double what i'm paying Now" and for the same service !

Is the contention ratio the same as what you're getting now ?

I went with Zen - monthly contract no migration fee. I'll try it out for a while and if works out will consider moving up to Fibre with them when FTTC arrives at the house. Its £18pm for 50G cap. Which should be enough at the office. At home we might just squeeze through. if only because our home speed is .7mbps.

Plusnet also have decent deals - and they support the 2.5meg upload as well. But for an extra £10/mnth - ouch.

Recently migrated our FTTC service to BT and have no complaints. The migration to BT worked a treat, we weren't without service at all, it just worked on the day it was supposed to.

This isn't really my area, but I've worked with a lot of people who just deal with BT direct including my old employer. Might be worth a call?

Looking to move to a business broadband supplier for my two lines. I'd prefer non contract deals really.

At home I'm set to get fibre in middle of the year, but at the office no date at all. Apparently if you are within a certain range of the CO - you are last in queue. Have asked the county agency which is providing funding to BT to look into this situation.

I've looked at Zen - who I was with previously. They are good but apparently you don't get elevated service levels unless you pay £45/mnth. eek.

Eclipse seen to want you in a contract of 24 months, and they are still expensive.

Anyone recommend any others?
