I've been quite impressed by Ubiquiti UniFi (in the "prosumer" category). However, the real question is whether it's practical for you to have Ethernet sockets around your house (e.g. drilling holes through walls).

We used HomePlug with extra Wifi access points for a long time but switched to a mesh system (TP-Link M500) probably 7-8 years ago, and we have a strong Wifi signal throughout (fairly large 5-bed house). The software works out the optimum route for the units to communicate. All the units have an ethernet socket.

I'm on Virgin Media 125Mbps fibre and a speed test just showed me I'm getting 81 down / 26 up in my office upstairs, through several block walls. I have no idea whether that would be good enough for your needs.

I settled on TP-Link after trying Google Mesh, because it got such good reviews, but I found it to be very flaky and units kept on misbehaving and dropping from the mesh, so I sent it back. TP-Link just worked perfectly straight out of the box. Also, the units we have are quite an old model now so, even though they work perfectly, I reckon newer models would be even better.

I just use BT.*
several block walls, no problem. no repeaters needed.
signal reaches bottom of 50m garden.

Hi

Looking for advice on upgrading home WiFi. Currently have Devolo running through the mains but it is coming to end of life. What would be suitable replacement to match move to Fibre broadband. Property is a bungalow with a couple of internal block walls to block the signal.
