Previously on "5G wifi router recommendations anyone?"
The bidding is already up to £98 and, with 2 days left, it will go a lot higher. Probably stupidly higher if past auctions, which often descend into bidding wars, are anything to go by.
It went for £155, which seems to be about the going rate for locked pre-owned ones.

yep, that's what happens most of the time, I think the zte and zyxel ones are unlocked, but I don't have a different sim to check.
Keep an eye on buy it now prices.
Also three are notoriously difficult when it comes to unlocking I wouldn't trust them to unlock it for free.

that link is for devices you've bought. 3 don't sell those units. They are provided with a service.
I don't know how pushy they are to get them back, but that unit is almost certainly stolen, even if the contract expired and 3 never asked for it back.
Is this a pucker 5G router? Might be worth a cheeky offer. (Although they're badged as 3, it says they're unlocked.) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204362225574

yeah depends how you want to slice and dice it I guess, I'm using an id mobile sim which was very cheap as part of a phone contract. But those are the options take your pick, also don't forget the mid contract price rises factor those in too.
Yeah, sure, I suppose that extra £2 a month increase is really going to affect things.
In which case, you'll be needing another SIM as well as a phone/router. Just for a Three unlimited SIM it is £18 per month, however, it's £20 with a 5G router on a 2 year deal.
