Probably Quartzy stuff (I can never remember exactly what it's called). But I thought if she had the latest version of Gimp it included such dependencies? Ah well, as long as she got it working

Interesting read, I thought they had released it for free also. I don't know why they didn't though, all the points in this article are perfectly valid.

When was that? IIRC it's only within the last couple of years that it's become a native OS X app, rather than a mutant Unix port.

But +1 for Acorn, which is fine for most purposes.

Most problems tend to be related to the fact that it's GIMP, and it's in desperate need of some interface re-design.

As stek says, 10.9.4 is the latest version of OS X. There is no 10.9.11.

Personally prefer Gimp as I've used it for years so familiar with it. PS is nice but doesn't do anything extra I need that Gimp can't do and it won't run on my Linux desktop.

There is no OSX 10.9.11 - I think 10.9.4 is out to developers at the moment, I've gone all 10.10 tho!

    WRDS.

Gimp isn't a natural bedfellow of Mac. I use Acorn instead.
