I was deliberately leaving out niche stuff - from what I gather these top-paying C++ roles tend to be very mathematical doing Quants and other stuff. No idea if it's actually that hard or not, never looked since the number of calls I've had from agents about C++ (and Java, and C#) is zero - it's Flex they always phone me about and these tend to pay well.

What do you do now?Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostC++ with Summit = more than £800 a day, closer to £1000 after a couple of years.
I really need to learn C++.

I have a day rate, so I don't apply for anything below that. If a deluded agent calls me and offers me a low rate, I just say "I will not get out of bed for that".
And it's not just contractors...
I had Agent A call me last week about job in the South west. Sorry too low I said, the cuts must be having an impact I said. This is despite me operating in a very niche market.
Agent B called 2 days later for the same job, and seriously I'm not pulling your leg here, starting at 140% of Agent's A opening offer.
Gosh they are at it, must be preparing for christmas...

There's a better rate poll n Busness & contracts, I suggest you look there.
I think you're over paid mate, whatever work you do

... And what if you're on 450? Is that 400 - 450, or 450 - 500?Originally posted by oracleslave View PostEpic fail on the poll.
Where's the andyW option?
Where's the £550 to infinity and beyond option?
Maturity? On here? Bwaaahhaaaa
Hope you're not a coder DA.

What are your skill worth to the project.
So the truth is, it's not me, it's you.

Where is Churchy when you need him
< Churchy >
But you would get in for a lower rate
