<400 is a pretty wide area, I'd imagine 3-400 makes up a huge part of that. And even I as a coder have seen roles at £600+ I could apply for (in London)

I had Agent A call me last week about job in the South west. Sorry too low I said, the cuts must be having an impact I said. This is despite me operating in a very niche market.
Agent B called 2 days later for the same job, and seriously I'm not pulling your leg here, starting at 140% of Agent's A opening offer.
Gosh they are at it, must be preparing for christmas...
