Chilly in here at 15.4 deg, 16 deg in the kitchen, 14 deg in the leanto.
1021 and a tad mBar, 30.156 in Hg, 765.96 Torr, 14.81 psi, (down from 1021 and two tads last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 27th of November 2019 there was a sunny afternoon around here, whereas there was much discussion of the elderly* with UTI & the resulting unpleasantness, BR14's contract was going tits up, I was watching yet more BTVS & Angel, this latter having the revelation of the presence of Summer Glau in the ballet ep (there was a ballet ep?).
*As an this term now applies to me. Shocking, innit?.
The dream before waking involved working at yet another unidentified location that appeared to be going bust in short order.
Dull, cloudy, dry. Currently 10 degrees with a high of 12 expected. Barometer down a snifter to 1025 mBar.
On the drive home from Mum's yesterday I spotted what looked like a bird of prey on the side of the A24, with a mouse a few feet away in the road. Both very dead. Couldn't stop to see what bird it was or whether it had been ringed for tracking.
I'm used to seeing hedgehogs, foxes, pigeons, etc but this was my first "proper" bird.
Grey start yet again. Getting a bit chillier overall too, being 8°C with no better than 12° expected. I seem to have neglected to record yesterday's readings, but the barometers are at 1015/1023mB today which I think is about the same as it has been
The usual Monkey Life marathon kept the TV busy this morning. Didn't pay attention to much else until teatime, when I watched the latest episode of Ambulance
Oh, and I did a bedding wash, so the day hasn't been completely without purpose or achievements
Another listless and tired day but went to village club after me walk, cheered me up a bit. There's a bloke there I hardly know who always insists on buying me drinks, dunno why.
Pheasant flew right in front of me van earlier. Very slight noise as end of its wing tapped me windscreen but don't think it was seriously injured, saw no feathers on road.
Down on the lawn, one of the crows was doing a lot of pecking and rooting around at one particular spot, while the other stood a couple of feet away watching. I believe one or more of the squirrels has ground stashes around that area, so I'm wondering if the crows are expanding hostilities against That Squirrel to include exposing its winter supplies. I've heard of corvids doing this when in conflict with squirrels
A squirrel then appeared from the hedgerow but basically ignored the crows and headed over this way as the crows ignored it back, so it's probably a different one that they aren't annoyed with
Dull and cloudy. Dry. Currently 13 degrees with a high of 14 expected. No rain forecast. Barometer down to 1026 mBar.
The plumber fixed the boiler in less than 10 mins and then spent a few mins bleeding radiators to make sure all the air was out of the system. Something about an expansion unit. The mechanism to up the system pressure is a bit more involved than I've been used to but I now know what to do should it happen again.
Talking of boilers, my brother had someone out to look at Mum's and quote for a replacement. Going for a combi rather than the separate water tank shenanigans. Lots of work involved and it'll cost a few quid but it'll be much better for Mum overall. She'll have decent hot water pressure for the first time in 40 years!
Chilly in here at 15.6 deg, 15.5 deg in the kitchen, 14 deg in the leanto.
1023 mBar, 30.21 in Hg, 767.3131 Torr, 14.8373 psi, (down from 1024 last night), 69% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 27th of November 2019 a haircut was procured, and I went for a walk, whereas, due to portioning problems, NF had two beef baps for lunch, with Halo_Jones commiserating over the stress involved therein.
