I misjudged the portion sizes when freezing that, and couldn’t finish it all! Must have been hungry when I was divvying it up
Accompanying viewing was E1 (of 3) of A Tragedy Foretold: Flight 3054 on Netflix, about a Brazilian Airbus which, in 2007, veered off the runway at São Paulo–Congonhas Airport. This, strangely, is in the middle of the city and raised above its surroundings, and the plane crashed into a warehouse owned by the same airline, killing many of the people working there as well as everybody on board
the more i look, the more it seems that the systems i'm working on consist of networked rabbit holes containing nested cans of worms.
Oh well, disentangling's what i'm paid for.
KerCHING!!
Blue sky, not a wisp to be seen from my vantage point. Currently 12 degrees with a high of 17 expected. Barometer up to 1027 mBar.
Sunrise 06:06; Sunset 18:13 GMT
A much easier day today. This morning is all about gig3, this afternoon is all about gig2. Gig1 is slowly dying off and I just bill a couple of hours a day for not a lot.
Lots of retired IT consultants about: is he on here? Just askin' for a friend, like. .
Morning.
Thursday.
Dry.
Sunny. .
Blue sky.
NotVeryChilly in here at 14.8 deg, 1? in the kitchen, 11.5 in the leanto, 7.5 in the saltinghouse.
1020.5 mBar, 30.14 in Hg, 765.44 Torr, 14.8 psi, (up from 1018 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 21st of March 2020 LM was doing lots of washing, BR14 was seeking out liquid refreshment, DaveB had something exotic on the birdfeeder, and I was walking up & down stairs to exercise The Leg.
Washing frenzy in progress. Everything pegged out on the line.
Walk (towpath, unabbreviated) walked in the unbearable heat of the morning.
Very slow this morning for some reason. Old age probably. .
Alternatively two successive afternoon's of "gardening".
Happily the recycling engineers took away my 4 green bags of moss from last year & in a fortnight they'll have another 4 green bags to take away.
Then it'll be time to scarify the lawn & remove some of last winder's moss contribution, which, it must be said, is particularly luxuriant and green at the moment.
Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: more fatuous bollox about heat pumps with plenty of idiot argument about how wonderful it's all going to be. Still no reason why electric is loaded with green bollox rather than gas.
Doh!: all about spectacles and contact lenses: apparently 90% of young East Asians are now myopic. Then some septic goon from meta came on so it rapidly went <click>.
Actually much the same sort of <click> happens every time the Orange Mother****er or his fascist friend Bibi come on.
Stuff in off the line & iRoned where required: a too dry really but I couldn't be arsed to put water in the iRon.
Randolph Scott movie "Gunfighters (1947)" on Leg End, but I couldn't be arsed to watch it. Don't think I've watched that one before.
Now outside a mug of consistent yet mediocre coffee.
Tea: beans on toast and baked spud. Made a change. Entertainment: PM. <click>
If there's owt on the idiot lantern this evening I've not found it.
Book. Other book.
Ancient Aliens bollox: "new" as in a clip show. Mysterious Monoliths. . <click>
Morning all
CBS, etc, although there were signs of frost in one of the fields where the grass was sheltered by a hedge.
Very pleasant walk, although I was a bit surprised to see an advert for a talk by a guy who calls himself a "retired IT consultant" - he retired 25 years ago - who now goes round the country preaching about how we need to wear tinfoil hats, home educate, burn more coal and when you get sick wave a crystal over your head. All wrapped up in sovereign citizen stuff and "give our association your money".
It's been a lovely day today but I only got to be out in it for about half an hour at lunchtime.
On my way home now. Brain is pooped.
I was at clientco. We (well me and the BA) decided to go to the Japanese for lunch but there was an outdoor table available at the Ivy Cafe so we went there instead
It’s another sunny start with a mostly clear blue sky - just a few wisps and vapour trails here and there. It won’t be quite as warm as yesterday, being 5°C with an anticipated high of 15°. It may start to cloud over in the afternoon, too. The barometers have shot up to 1016/1024mB
No group walk today as usual leaders have all sorts of problems, but met up for a drink in pub to discuss future arrangements. Local history talk this evening, much more interesting than it sounded.
