I’ve made it to the end of the importer! Every single one of the twenty-odd steps has been checked and gone through line-by-line, and seems OK
Now I need to add some additional steps, as it doesn’t deal with a few things. It doesn’t bring in the default user titles for some reason, though it checks users for custom titles and gets them, and it also doesn’t import the naughty words filter that gives us “tulip” and the like. But those things are straightforward compared to some of the other stuff, and I’ve now got a pretty detailed understanding of the best way to go about them
Oh, and it doesn’t know about thanks/likes as we understand them, because they're done by a plugin. It looks pretty straightforward to bring them over as well, as it already has a system for them
And in the background, I’ve also been getting some bedding washed
Forgot to post this morning because I was busy working through the reputation import for the new forum! Turned out to be moderately straightforward, but it became clear that the new forum software doesn’t work the same way - it just converts rep into likes. So I’ll move on now I’ve got that working, and later I’ll investigate what it would take to add a vB-like rep system. TBH this new software is so good that I think it might be quite straightforward, but we’ll see
It’s positively Simpsonesque here today, though not as warm as it could be, with a bit of a breeze that isn’t helping: we’re currently at the day’s peak of 13°C but it “feels like” 7°; the barometers are up a little at 1015/1023mB
CBS here in the Midlands. Sadly I'm stuck on the 5th floor of my local Civil Service building instead of being in the garden enjoying it.
Very tired today. I think I need an early night and some time on the sofa first - we have been working through the latest series of Ambulance and have a few more to go.
What is the point of blocking your diary as unavailable only for people to ignore that and book a meeting anyway?
Then when you decline, pointing out that your calendar showed you as unavailable, they just say "thanks for letting me know". I'm apparently essential to the meeting they have set up, so you'd think they'd check I could actually attend.

Blue sky with wispy fluff scurrying past. Currently 11 degrees ('feels like' 8) with a high of 13 expected. Barometer up to 1026 mBar.
Sunrise 05:53; Sunset 20:08 BST
Might get some laundry done today.
I also need to scope out the work for a new starter joining Gig3 tomorrow. I know what it will be but it's not yet written up in a helpful or testable requirements fashion.
Chilly in here at 14.8 deg, 15 in the kitchen, 13 in the leanto.
1020 mBar, 30.12 in Hg, 765 Torr, 14.794 psi, (up from 1019 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 25th of March 2020: as per yesterday.
Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the wan sunshine & cold wind. It's better to have a scarf & not need it than to need a scarf & not have it. Brrrr.
Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: R4 waffling on about Mediaeval sins & the like: pride, lust, greed, etc.
The springs in the hall were duly cleaned. I suspect some of the detritus was carpet beetle derived.
Freecell score after the stress of cleaning bookshelves & vaccing the carpet underneath with two vacuum cleaners: 100% (of 16), running average: 84%. Must have served up easy ones today.
Need to buy more furniture polish.
Tea: soup etc. Entertainment: PM. Discussing the state of employment in Wales, and in particular the valleys, boyo, there's tidy then. Nice coat that jacket. Over by there. <click>.
Sounds like our current Glorious Leader is showing much the same ability as the previous half dozen or so. Doomed etc.
Overnight frost made for a bit of ice build up on my boots when walking through the fields. It was CBS and chilly earlier, but there’s some cloud coming in now.
For tea tonight, Sainsbury’s Korean beef in a spicy honey-based sauce, with rice. Pretty nice, it turned out to be
Accompanying this, the second part of the 24 Hours in Police Custody from last week. It can’t be helpful to your case when the police ask a close relative about you and they say “He’s an evil bastard and I think he’s guilty”
Saturday’s burger came with some free chicken nuggets, so I had them for lunch along with a few fries and ketchup. Rather bland; I’m glad I didn’t pay for them
And the afternoon has been devoted to working out what was going wrong with the new forum import of attachments. Turned out to be something involving server config; I suspect I’ll need to consult with whoever manages the servers nowadays before the real thing. But it seems to be working in my Docker container, so that’s another step sorted out (probably)
