Rain must have been really rainy last night, little stream at bottom of my garden was full of water. Been tearing me hair out trying to find why my business accounts don't add up. Damn waste of time, if my sister wasn't so keen I'd close it down to save myself the hastle.
Sunny with lumps of fluff out one window. Grey cloud out another. Light breeze. Damp from overnight precipitation. Currently 19 degrees ('feels like' 24) with a high of 22 expected. Barometer up a bit to 1011 mBar.
Sunrise 06:12; Sunset 19:50 BST
No plans for the day.As is right and proper for a bank holiday.
I was awoken by the sound of very heavy rain a couple of times in the night. But it’s sunny and Simpsonesque at the moment; windy though, and going to be quite changeable. It’s 15°C and expected to reach 20°, albeit briefly, with the barometers steady at 996/1004mB
I see I neglected to sign out last night, which I blame on tiredness. So for the record, other viewing during the day had been wildlife stuff, including a film in which David Attenborough told the life story of Jumbo, the elephant who now lends his name to so many things that are bigger than other things. And I had expected to finish To Each This World but I’d been led astray: it’s printed on quite thin, though good quality, paper, and the pages are relatively large. So the upshot is that after last night’s reading, I still have around a hundred pages to go which is probably equivalent to, say, a hundred-and-twenty pages in a regular-size paperback
21.3 deg in here, 21.8 in the kitchen, 19 in the leanto, 16 out the back.
1003.5 mBar, 29.6 in Hg, 752.7 Torr, 14.55 psi, (up from 998 last night), 68% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 3rd of April 2020, between 12:29 and 13:28, AndyGarbs, eek, LM, MrMarkyMark, NF, and vetran popped in, with MrMarkyMark down to his last 4 pack of bogroll. .
Entertainment: Jack Hargreaves Old Country: what did the Black Death ever do for us? Why the villages on the chalk disappeared whilst the villages on the lower lands didn't. Visited Knowlton Henge & church. The pond he visits with Ghost in the opening sequence is at Ashmore in Dorset. Ain't the interweb good. . It's a dewpond, which led to yet more twisty passages. No dwarf person of restricted height yet.
Shopping trip to that Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.
Washing frenzy started, which should induce the return of the deluge in about 20 minutes or so.
Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: thing about ADHD and autism.
Dashcam bollox. S3 E1. Missed bits of that due to pegging out stuff on the line.
Shirts in off the line & duly met the iRon, now airing upstairs along with the tea towels.
A mug of coffee was required after all the day's exertions.
Jack Hargreaves Old Country. You can never have too much about The Black Death. .
Lunch has been leftover belly pork bits from the other day in a bap (wholemeal, homemade) with apple sauce
The magpies were down on the lawn together! I think they’ve had to be going further afield because of the parched lawn having less of whatever it is they peck at down there, which is why they haven’t been around so much
I awoke bright and relatively early this morning, but managed to get back to sleep for another couple of hours
It’s sunny and Simpsonesque out at the moment, and the wind has dropped a bit. Currently 18°C, it’s expected to reach 21° by early afternoon. But then the rain is likely to return, and we even have a yellow warning for thunderstorms! The barometers are back up a bit at 996/1004mB
Blue sky with high level wispy fluff. Currently 19 degrees ('feels like' 25) with a high of 23 expected. Rain may happen around lunchtime / early afternoon. Barometer up to 1010 mBar.
Sunrise 06:11; Sunset 19:52 BST
There ended up being quite a bit of rain yesterday and I never did check if the farmers market had returned. All holiday laundry was done though.
Sunday: another 05:00 awakening: always a joy & much appreciated every fecking time it happens.
Wet. Very wet. Stair rods wet.
Grey now, it was black earlier.
Sunless. Completely.
Can't see Drummau, lost in the low cloud.
22.1 deg in here, 22.1 in the kitchen, 20 in the leanto, 16 out the back.

Meanwhile on the 3rd of April 2020, between 11:31 and 12:06: as per yesterday.
Today's dream before waking seemed to involve the cat and my failing to install a litter tray, followed by some strange goings on in next door's hall where the wallpaper was billowing off and strange people were banging on the wall in an attempt to get through. Very odd.
The attempt to return to the land of nod via "Pulse" was unsuccessful, and since there's someone living next door the permissible volume wasn't great. However I must have dozed for a while since I missed the bells on Time yet again.
Book.
Lunch: brunch. Bit earlier due to being up since sparrow fart.
Cartrefi Cymru: Flatau (Flats if you require the translation): Penarth. Cowbridge ex Grammar Skool conversion. Something else I dozed through.
Dashcom bollox S6 E11. S6 E2 (the one with the rednecks and shotgun).
Hammering down again. And gusting impressively with it. Horizontal rain. Lovely.
Front bedroom windows closed for the first time in a couple of months. Winter must be on its way. .
The back bedroom tilt & turn was closing itself with the gusts, so I shut it properly.
The afternoon doze was accompanied by more of "Pulse", still no sign of "Time" since I put the wrong CD in the player and dozed off without realising. Hope next door enjoyed it. Not terribly keen on many of the tracks on there, so put the other CD in & listened to Comfortably Numb.
Tea: baked beans & baked spuds. Nice enough. Entertainment: some tosh on R4, followed by stuff off sounds that'll save me remembering tomorrow & Tuesday morning, one of which explained how Pat Buchanan led inexorably to the Orange mother****er. Predictably enough the Orange Mother****er hasn't an original thought in his orange syrup covered head. All together now: USA! USA! USA!.
Jungle Secrets. Nan Madol. Giant rocks obviously moved by Ancient Aliens to build walls 25 feet high on a coral reef. Crashed B24 "Hot Garters" found off Hansa Bay, PNG, shot down by the Japanese: 4 bailed out which did them no favours since the Japs killed them, the other 8 went down with the B24. The remains were buried by PNG natives & dug up for ID purposes & returned whence they'd come for burial. Glowing fungi in Indian forest. Cave found in Rondonia, Brazil: much discussion on what animal formed it.
Possibly Yet Another Dashcam bollox bollox. It's easy to watch & keeps me awake..
Book. Gosh James Cameron did get around a bit, from Operation Crossroads to a party given by Mao. Who'd have thunk. And he had dinner with WSC and Onassis at Beverbrook's house in France, though WSC spent the entire time asleep.
Thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening.
The other day, Jo Kibble did one of his 24 hour bus challenges, which brought him to Leicester around 11 at night. Having a wait, he set off in search of sustenance which he found at Bombay Bites, an Indian fast food place with three branches in the city. I congratulated him on his choice and he said the food was absolutely delicious, and it reminded me that I haven’t had anything from there for a while. So this evening’s tea was brought from the branch that’s a bit closer to me, and he’s right - it’s really good stuff if you fancy some nice spicy “street food” as it’s apparently called nowadays
