No point in dying rich... and always at the back of my mind is how it was before... but you do have a right to enjoy the fruits of your labour...

IMHO when working away, a Travelodge is preferable to a 5 star hotel in terms of saving dosh... but I could not extend that rational to staying in a bedsit... I do need a certain level of comfort and privacy.

The OP, lying on his skanky mattress in a room with mouldy walls, surrounded by flies and used needles, has obviously taken this advice on board in his decision to choose a bedsit over something more pleasant.
