You can do a lot of it yourself. Just ask for a figure, agree to it and pay it.

Talk to WTT - they've probably got the most experience of the schemes and should be able to give you good advice to ensure that your settlement is final.

I was with them for 2015-16 for which I have received enquiry Section 9A. Not sure how much information I should provide. Would very much appreciate if some one can direct me.
I simply want to avoid Discovery Assessment or COP8 so should I clearly disclose the scheme and try to get settle the outstanding tax?

For 2016-17 I still have to file the Self Assessment so can anyone tell me should I mention the loan amount or should I go with CLSO2 and settle in that.
My worry is even if I put loan amount it is still going to trigger section9A as this company has gone in liquidation hence why HMRC system is picking all the people under this umbrella.

At least with CLSO2 settlement I will get little bit extra time to pay.

    Please suggest.

You have opening enquiry letters and HMRC will not let go now.

You will have to answer them and deal with the consequences.

Consequences are settle, litigate, discuss with HMRC and then settle or litigate.

Trying to do that without a clear picture of the costs and outcomes is not advisable.

Getting information can be expensive. Organising to pay for that as a group is sensible (and supportive).

One or a group of you need to grasp the challenge.

Advisers can be found via Google or here.

Yes, I am connected with such an adviser, but others are out there.
    Hi Webber

Sound advice I would invite anyone who has been contacted by HMRC regarding contractor payroll to contact me as we want to form a support group.

Make sure the settlement is full and final and cannot be resiled.

    Thanks,
Not mentioning the loan amount will probably trigger a COP9.

Which scheme are you using this year?

Never ever lie to HMRC. You must be completely honest.

I suggest you settle under CLSO2.

    To Maya,

Did the Agency point you to this Scheme?

You may have the right to sue the agency for damages.

I am very angry at HMRC as they have plenty of laws to stop these schemes. Yet choose not to.

Webberg gives good advice above. I am not sure what else to suggest.
Foolish though they have been to get caught up in snake oil schemes at this stage, fortunate they are that they have been caught so soon and have found misery amongst company so quickly.

At least they only have a year or 2 to 'settle' with HMRC.

My advice would be to speak with HMRC and reconcile the tax due with them. And of course exit the scheme immediately.

Scheme owners promoters will only get their justice in Hell.

    As will HMRC.
