Here's a nice piece of trivia... I've never got a contract I interviewed for but I have been in contract just about non-stop since I started in 2007.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostCan't remember the last time I interviewed for a job. Before my contracting career though.

£500 of courseOriginally posted by EternalOptimist View Posti went for a job in an architects gaff. The IT manager asked me some general questions then showed my a real problem with an sql query.
He got me a mega ham salad barm while i fixed his query.
Mega impressed, he hoiks me into the bosses office. everyone was happy
then he says to me quietly £350 a day is a joke, we both know that. what will you do it for really ?
I was looking at the screen, it said 'save changes Y/N'

Quite simply, if they leave the interview with the impression that you are "better" than they are (in some fuzzy, not only technical sense (could be better looking, could be better dressed, could be brand names on your CV, could be more articulate)) then you get the job, otherwise, you fall prey to the pet prejudices of the most senior interviewer and they backwards rationalise the rejection (usually to a failure in some niche technical area that could be learned within a single day) .Originally posted by sky View PostHow would you guess outcome of the interview will be?
The more I look at the way humans treat each other in different settings (governments, companies, interviews, dating, the playground etc), the more it all looks exactly the same.Last edited by wonderboy; 5 June 2014, 10:27.

If I feel the interview has gone well, then it generally has; if I feel the interview didn't go well, then it generally hasn't. The latter is rarer than the former.Originally posted by sky View PostHow would you guess outcome of the interview will be?
