    Other half has done same though but only put a couple of quid in before realising. Filled it up to the brim with diesel and kept it filled up constantly with no problems so far but just waiting for the fuel pump to give up the ghost at any moment.

    I have a diesel and a petrol car so it is going to happen to me at some point. Hope you get it fixed quick.
    If you'd only put a couple of litres of the wrong fuel in you can generally get away with filling up the rest with the right fuel. Anymore than that and you need to ring AA/RAC/Fuel Doctor ext and get it sorted properly.
