Fights breaking out over discounts in the shops. What in heaven's name is going on? Is this the level of materialism that's infested society? People actually fighting with each other to get discounted consumer goods?
I don't understand why we're having it here on a work day; I guess with halloween and now Black Friday, it's only a matter of time until we start celebrating Thanksgiving too.

It's the day after Thanksgiving in the US, which makes sense as it means cashing in on peoples' desire to do anything to get away from their family - much like Boxing Day sales here. It's also a holiday. I don't understand why we're having it here on a work day; I guess with halloween and now Black Friday, it's only a matter of time until we start celebrating Thanksgiving too.
Is this any different from the mayhem in what used to be the January sales?
They've figured out that no one has any cash left after Xmas. The new plan is to get them before they have time to blow their last pay packet before xmas on anything else.

on black friday everything will be cheap as chips..
even if it is not the sheeple will still spend spend spend!
Its the internet (and Apple's) fault. Once the rest of the world discovered America got cheaper prices one day a year the rest of the world had to copy....
WTF has happened this year? I am seeing Black Friday this and that every where and not just from US companies. Wish they would all just STFU!
Amazon have done something for Black Friday last few years, usually get a few gems but otherwise its selling off surplus stock, Apple always do something but you are right, more and more UK companies are getting on the band wagon now
Apple have £81 off most Laptops and iMacs, only works out about 3.4% for the one I want so my wallet is safe today unless I see something shiney on Amazon later
