Not at all. I am speaking from my own experiences, rather than the perception of others.

I grew up on a council estate in the 70's and 80's. I seem to recall there were only a tiny number of families who were like the people in the article. The remainder were honest and hardworking blue-collar salt-of-the-earth people.

Because most middle-aged white people look really hot, yeah right. And most people with 10 children still have a good figure.

They just look like average working class folk, they don't have the 'crim' features and the guy just looks a bit tired rather than shifty.

This is Ipswich. 13 kids must seem like a nice round number since they probably have that many fingers each.

I suppose if you have that many kids, you are at risk of running out of sensible names.

Well, British manufacturing certainly hasn't died, but employs less people than it did in the past. Part of that is thanks to automation, part of it thanks to poor management, part of it thanks to idiot trade unionists.

ok so best give uo then hey...

I would argue that it was not the hardworking blue collars who ended up being the dolites

it was the lazy blue collars who refused to look for work once t'pit or t'factory closed.

I've no idea - the moment I got into IT and White Collar working I moved as far away from them as I could.

When I moved into contracting I moved ever farther away.

I didn't say they aren't. I said you could find those types on any council estate, but obviously, in between the 'hardworking blue-collar salt-of-the-earth people'.

    Anyway, no I wouldn't.
