    On a serious note, it seems to use batteries, so you just swap them and send them out again. A grand seems a lot now, but I am sure they will drop in price once they are more widely used.

    I don't think I want the gardener to bob my uncle.

    Has UK had a hosepipe ban recently, I don't recall hearing about them since I was a kid... if there is one do the water company send out letters? Maybe they just don't have them up north.
