IIRC, Mitt was complaining about 'the 48%' always voting for Obama, and those were immigrants, unemployed and blacks. It's one of the things that took him down.
For the person saying something is a wasted vote, as 'they always vote tory round here', do you not think that's an issue? It can mean 80% of the warn aren't represented properly.

As you were.
Remember things like these evolve and don't tend to be absolute.

Originally posted by KaiserWilly View PostYes, they can. France is the prime example, where 90% of the muzz voted for Francois Hollande.
1. They cannot vote in General Elections i.e. vote for an MP.
2. EEA which includes EU citizens have absolutely no reason to get a British passport due to freedom of movement.
3. They can vote in Local and European elections but I doubt many of them vote as most British people don't vote.
4. Eire is a special case.

Ditto for the US and Obama.
In the UK, the electoral system is different, but in the end the same situation will take place.

All very well worrying about being bossed around by the EU, but the alternative might be to be bossed around by China.

As far as the original point goes - UKIP was a wasted vote in my ward as was anything not Tory - we got a Tory just like we always do.
