I noticed that and thought it stank.

If someone else shoves enough money in Google's direction you will get suggestions that you didn't really mean what you entered and please go somewhere else instead.

Google adapts the search based on the search history, to better predict what it reckons you will want it to push near the top of the list based on previous use. If I search for keywords related to my plan B, planB.com is #1 but for other people it probably isn't. This was brought in maybe 2-3 years back IIRC.

Have an Acer Android tablet which me/missus sometimes use in the conservatory. Thought Google search never seemed to give quite same results as my normal Win7 PC upstairs but now I know doesn't, thanks to my usual schoolboyish substitutions.

"public toothpaste" with quotes (ie public footpath) brings up "No search results" on the Android but loads of links on the PC including the Urban Dictionary.

Eh? I thought Google search was the same whatever the browser. What's going on there then?

PS Yes I do have safe search off on both machines.

Google have a mobile site - if I look at the bottom of the google page on my phone, it has the option of mobile or classic view - although I get the same results for both.

Another possiblity is that you're mistyping on Android if you're using an onscreen keyboard...
