For your information:
-Iraqis in this country are mainly secular and come from various backgrounds (go find out their denominations if you haven't been watching the news for the last 10 years)
-Iranians in this country are generally not very interested in religion
-Indonesians really don't care for Shariah law
-there is probably about 76 Omanis in the whole of the UK - one of whom is the Wigan goalkeeper.

It's a culture & class thing.
The Chinese & Sikhs/Hindus seem more middle class than the muslims concentrated in the sink estates.
This may be due to their selection via Visa applications in the 60 - 80s.
Interesting comment on LBC, chap who is an ex addict:
so I think attitude is a major part.
You havent been to Southall then !
Went there once and never again.

I was a successful Drug Addict and Drinker I could afford to take drugs and be drunk all the time. I associated with other successful drug addicts & drinkers.
I now associate with people who want to succeed in a different way.

Also I think we can all agree Afghanistan should be left alone to be completely independent from everybody - everybody who has tried to interfere has been properly screwed.

Some pakistanis just happen to be muslims. Not all of them want independence either.
Please also remember Bangladeshis (East Pakistan) asked for, and received independence too, as did large swathes of Afghanistan.

Pakistan was born because of that and now they are fighting in kashmir. The entire middle east is in turmoil over this issue. The problem though is that once they are given independence they then start fighting among themselves and it all descends into a dictatorship.
