    I'd forgotten this one. I started on a very lucrative contract, brand new project and all that only to discover that the contractor who started a month before me had told all and sundry what our rates were.

    Ah well, I got a renewal and he didn't.

    Proper contractors know better than to mention what their rates are.

    I gauge the quality of a contract based on the ratio of actual working time / billed time. Target KPI = 50%.

    Due to working on a building site that is very tight on space the smoking area keeps getting moved: its latest position is right next to the “live Gas” sign, I know corporate responsibility says that you should encourage people to give up, but that seems a little extreme
