Missing Radbroke but not the rate. Had to move soon anyway cos of the 51 week rule. Hopefully will be back there shortly for another 10-12 months.

So you'd rather go back to Radbroke for the 'atmosphere' rather than somewhere else paying a higher rate?

No wonder you turned down that extra 85 quid a day.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

Had one client with a strict non-internet usage policy other than business, enforced by prowling internet police

        Didn’t take an extension.

          No point going to work.

Worked for Defence company a bit like this. Everything was blocked. And they randomly used to check peoples usage.

whoever said welcome to the South East - please PM me for a zillion rep over the next month.

That's unfortunately been my experience, with the exception of 1 client.

Worked in a few places like this, doesnt really bother me as I have a smartphone, cig breaks or actual work to do.

What is annoying is when they block the internet to the point you cant google an error code or something you need to speed up your job. Really is ridiculous.

I worked at one place that had a non-fraternisation rule for permie staff meaning they were not allowed to socialise with contractors which effectively meant they never spoke to you in the work-place either! Very sad, but true!

And some companies wonder why no one wants to work for them?

Worked with a guy who got dragged in front of manager who'd had a report from IT that he was looking at porn and provided the URL. Turns out to be a page about RS232 specifications. Nice one IT.

Seriously. How on earth can that be good for morale? Surely companies want contractors to fit and not appear separate?

Unless client was scared that contractors would tell permies how much they're rate was....
