One is pretty close but was just trying to be upbeat and cheerful and give the poster an idea that a boring contract is not the thing he should be worrying about. Bit of a dose of reality in the big wide world for him

    Also...

I've found that walking, at high speed, huffing and puffing with a scowl equals busy, deadline looming in other paople's eyes.

Well it worked for Geoge Costanza (Seinfeld).

    Anyway...

I've worked on the Burma railroad for a car company in the North East - so I'm due a little (paid) holiday!

I get given a task and its finished very quickly unlike the permies who keep coming to me asking for help.

I've done more complex and concise documentation than the rest of the team put together.

Even do other contracts on the side.

Yep, get a Kindle App - it looks like you're doing documentation!

I'm going through a really boring patch at the moment, but I am more than glad to be in contract when I look out the recruitment window and see how slow the market is in regard to my skillset.

Personally I don't really care about the content of my contract, it's not my life is just facilitates my life.

Get on with it and if you're happy with the money to run your real life then get on with it. I don't know how liquid your area of the market is but be happy to be earning.

If it's really that bad then go looking and see what the market has to offer.

Bored tulipless with the current gig. Unfortunately I find this more and more these days. Something to do with working for big financial institutions and big cumbersome project life cycle tulip. Thing is to be able to look like you're busy and actually not point out too often that you've got bugger all to do or it may get flagged up that you're not needed.

I have just discovered that there's a meditation room where I am now. Think I'll try walking out of the office with my notepad and seeing if it's a good place for quick half hour's kip.

Amuse and educate - however it's my first ever public sector contract after 15 years of contracting.

Why didn't I do this years ago?
