Much same as current uk privacy laws unless it's been revised. Ok to keep data for necessary reasons, ie for shopping carts, to deliver goods or for necessary accounting records.

I'd wager that no-one gives more than a passing nod to it. The directive allows cookies that are intrinsic to the operation of the website, so authentication, shopping basket, user preferences etc. Most tracking is now done through tracking pixels so not covered by cookies (although there might be something else in there that covers that).Originally posted by eek View PostDepends if a website tries to implement something or just ignores it.
