That's acceptable as a valid marketing approach so long as the user has honest intention to evaluate the product with a view to continue into paid subscription.

It's not cheapskatesuk.com - even permies should be able to afford to buy company info for £1 (close to cost of Mars bar in vending machine).

£1 per company document is the same as free, in fact it's better than free - with this token gesture you support Companies House that processes all documents in the first place.

My view is that business that provides valueable information should be supported especially when the cost is very much token £1.

Let's put things in context - anybody who'd want to view other companies info would do it for a reason that most likely involves thousands of pounds, in many cases far far more, in which case why being a cheapskate and get data through some free site when known official source sells data for token fee of £1?
