I did this - it got crushed trying to fit a flight bag into Ryanair's stupid size gauge at the airport. Wife spoke to Amazon support, got a replacement shipped over in two days FOC apart from post and packing (75 USD as I recall). Resynched from the Cloud-stored copies and back to normal a day later.
Give Amazon a call. they really are very good.

I know someone who got his Kindle replaced for free, said the screen cracked when he was removing it from the cover, a know fault.

There are instructions on instructables.com for how to replace the screen - someone got hold of a cheap Sony e-ink reader and replaced the Kindle screen in there.
HTH.

You mean the Kindle Touch or Kindle Fire?Originally posted by d000hg View PostNever heard of it - firstly with it being so thin are you sure only the screen is damaged? You might be best asking Amazon directly in case they can help. Also they have a very active Kindle forum: Amazon.co.uk: Customer Discussions: kindle forum
TBH if it's outside warranty, getting a new/refurbished one might be as cheap. Take a look at the new version too.
