Christmas starts creeping in to the shops at the end of August. I don't approve of discussing it until the beginning of December.

This is a massive coincidence. Christmas hasn't crossed my mind for months, then I emailed a friend today to ask what she was wearing (like you do ), and she said red and green, it feels like Christmas.

Is there an official date when early risers can start talking about it?

Over here in the US, they appear to have all-year-round christmas [tree] stores. Not entirely sure as we've driven past them without stopping.
