That would be a shame. The cleaners have only just got rid of the nasty red stain that was there for 13 years.

Isn't that what happened when Gordo ousted Blair?
If Cameron resigned wouldn't we have Clegg as acting PM? I think the lib dems may be adding pressure on the cons if that's the case!

Were that to happen, I think there might be a bit of a credibility issue thrown up by the opposition.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostCameron can resign without an election being called: the coalition simply appoints a new leader, HMQEII accepts Cameron's resignation and then asks the new pop pick to form a Government.
Ken Clarke has been mooted by some
As for Clarke, he's got a brilliant mind but I'm not convinced by his leadership skills. But then, I've never met the man.

I think you (and the left leaning media) give more of a tulip than the majority of the voting population tbh.Originally posted by russell View PostHes not to blame but hiring Coulson has been political suicide.
According to blighty, Coulson was Osbourne's pick. I don't think it's a big enough deal to make Cameron resign - we are a long way from a GE and this is a timewasting sideshow.
Even after all this noise, his approval rating is still 8-9 points over Millipede, who has only managed to scrape up to 26% (ish - that's from memory).
It will take him being personally implicated in a proper scandal to oust him before term, and Coulson just doesn't cut it.

High ranking policeman (esp. in the met) are much more likely to resign than retire.
I find it strange that you think Cameron is to blame though. Typically woolly socialist thinking.
