Not really. Murdoch is a bit of a muppet and has let his empire run riot for too long.Originally posted by russell View PostI bet you found NoTW closing down unlikely or the highest ranking policemen resigning unlikely?
High ranking policeman (esp. in the met) are much more likely to resign than retire.
I find it strange that you think Cameron is to blame though. Typically woolly socialist thinking."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

Hes not to blame but hiring Coulson has been political suicide.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostNot really. Murdoch is a bit of a muppet and has let his empire run riot for too long.

I think you (and the left leaning media) give more of a tulip than the majority of the voting population tbh.Originally posted by russell View PostHes not to blame but hiring Coulson has been political suicide.
According to blighty, Coulson was Osbourne's pick. I don't think it's a big enough deal to make Cameron resign - we are a long way from a GE and this is a timewasting sideshow.
Even after all this noise, his approval rating is still 8-9 points over Millipede, who has only managed to scrape up to 26% (ish - that's from memory).
It will take him being personally implicated in a proper scandal to oust him before term, and Coulson just doesn't cut it."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

Cameron can resign without an election being called: the coalition simply appoints a new leader, HMQEII accepts Cameron's resignation and then asks the new pop pick to form a Government.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostI can't see that changing for some time. Thank god. Don't want those lefty twats in again for a bloody long time.
Ken Clarke has been mooted by some

Were that to happen, I think there might be a bit of a credibility issue thrown up by the opposition.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostCameron can resign without an election being called: the coalition simply appoints a new leader, HMQEII accepts Cameron's resignation and then asks the new pop pick to form a Government.

As for Clarke, he's got a brilliant mind but I'm not convinced by his leadership skills. But then, I've never met the man."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment
