30° C here. Still surviving but it's a bit close. A thunderstorm would do nicely.

Lightning strike disrupts Gatwick Airport flights

Passengers have been warned to expect delays after lightning struck the control tower at Gatwick Airport.

The airport said the tower was hit at about 1400 BST during thunder storms which swept across the South East.

As an aside, it's just hit 28 deg here and the HSSE bod is wondering around checking everyone is ok.

28 and clear blue skies. Off to the beer garden later to sit under a tree with a litre of Bavarian goodness. Lovely.

Teeming down here - even the smokers have run for cover!

Occasional rumbles of thunder but nothing really exciting in terms of lightning and such yet.

Kept hearing what sounded like distant thunder. Towards morning closed the windows and it was still there. Darn it, it used to rain continually in my bedroom, now it thunders.
