He put a message in a helldesk queue I didn't have access to then accused me of not doing my job. Hell, I couldn't even see what the problem was.
What kicked it off was that the other Brits all hadn't turned up one morning, presumably after a night on the town, and he wouldn't believe me when I said I hadn't been with them. I of course was the only Brit there that he could have a go at.

Usually avoided too many meetings as contractor as was often not part of a team. I think at interviews they must have sussed me as the sort of bloke who would be happy stuck in a remote corner doing odd bits and pieces.

I used to work with a Scottish company who looked after women with bereavement..
Every morning you would have a meeting at 10 which would last until 12, you got about 3 hours of coding done in the afternoon as clocking off time was 4.

Monday morning is a very silly time to have a team meeting. People arrive refreshed and raring to go after a lovely weekend and the first thing you do is bore the tulip out of them and run through a big list of things that are going wrong. Hardly the best way to motivate people is it.

Had an inkling (due to the fact the place was empty!) that there might be a meeting but I knew not where. Of course, they all came back and the manager asks where I was !!!! Of course, I told him that nobody told me about it.
Nice one. So I look like either a) couldnt be arsed to go or b) so disorganised I forgot.

If I am taken on board to code I often deliberately avoid meeting as a contractor, I take the opinion that I am there as a coder, I am not there to discuss working practice or change opinion but there to hack in whatever change request they have over the stinking code base.
The 'group meetings' in a time reserved room usually are just a waste of time.
