I don't tend to ban in General, and I take the 'boohoo' reported posts in my stride unless I consider genuine bullying/intimidation taking place.
However, people cross me twice in the Professional forums at their peril...

Exactly... my suggestion - that any regular posters' sockies found to be blatantly trolling the boards (prof or social) are banned & their owners are heavily slapped (either through post count or outright banning) - has yet to gain support. It's really dull having to deal with this sort of thing. If only sockies were as creative as the likes of chico, long may he rest in peace.
Oh look somebody mentioned the elephant in the room.

If, after warnings, anyone continues to post inappropriately in the professional forums, they'll get banned.

As a mod it must be very tiresome dealing with this constant muppetry.

Russel's posts fit kandr's exactly. A forensic profiler would love it.
kandr was using Windows XP SP2 on IP starting with 212.65.12.*, where as russell was on Win 7 SP1 from totally different IP in Scotland.

I suppose the other option is they just get their kicks from seeing how long it takes for their next feeble incarnation to be banned, but either way it's trolling and adds no value from informative or entertainment perspectives.
There have been a few comedy sockies, but they've died out with the rise of the trolls.
Point 2. The truth is, new posters are coming in, trolling and getting banned as with all boards, we are so desensitised to it we assume it's all the same person. Which it isn't.
Anyway, I'm boring myself now. Going to login in as AtW.

I haven't noticed russell trolling, the only think that has aroused my suspicions has been a few posts where he's complemented sasguru & MF on their intelligence.
kandr / NOB25 etc deliberately set out to wind people up and often succeeded, and also got very abusive very quickly, which russell hasn't done despite having been ganged up on quite a lot. He does seem to get a bit uppity when people accuse him of being a sockie but I can see why that would get wearing after a week or two.
I'm starting to think he's not actually a sockie.
