    If you lost it then its an admin charge, hopefully you haven't lost the photocard if it had stopped working then they're obliged to give you a new one free of charge.

    I'd like to think they can cancel the one you lost and print off a new one at no cost... OR maybe you were mistaken and the ticket gate just 'swallowed' it?

    Yes. Well they will probably hit you with an admin charge of about 3/4 of the cost
