    IMO the concentration camp in many ways was many levels darker than an extermination camp. Your fate was over in hours if you ended up in Auschwitz, however in Sachsenhausen the detail of daily torture was almost too much to bare, even for me and I consider myself someone of a strong mind.

    Sachsenhausen collected over 100 tons in gold - through removed fillings

    I was accompanying a friend for support who did not want to go alone. Would not have gone there of my own accord.
