They're just people who like to share. They'll share all kinds of stuff with you: viruses, trojans, porn that you have to actually pay for.

Also, if you give them credit card details, you'll find that they like to share those too, usually with people living in the former USSR who have an insatiable thirst for expensive goods

As soon as I signed up I got some of those from people all around the world with the same name as me. WTF is that all about?

I closed my account shortly afterwards. Which is why I missed the one I was probably sent by Audrey Tautou.

Joined Facebook when I was considering going on a CUK bash once but never bothered to do anything apart from register.

Keep getting emails recently "x wants to be your friend" Can somebody a bit more with it explain why anyone would want to be a "friend" to somebody who has never been bothered to post a single personal detail. Is it just would be spammers or what?
