Now the missus is moaning that I am about to bin the 'caravan' holiday she booked with her parents to take on a new contract with an immediate start.
"Well! Why won't they wait longer for you?'
Answer : Because I am presently IT Contracting, and I am therefore a commodity to be bought and sold on the basis of cost & availability.
(Bearing in mind my missus got offered 10 days work for £3000 having not worked for 18 months and turned it down because she had agreed to go to her sisters for a couple of days!!)

Oh this one is getting bizarre(having editted the thread) in case the agency/client worked out based on the details I left.
The agent firstly didnt want to put me forward because I wasnt immediately available(as I am on notice) and so I was left with the impression I hadnt been put forward.
Then the agent just sent me the contact details for the client and told me to set my own interview up and let him know how I get on.
I left a couple of messages for the guy and heard nothing for three days. He then phoned me and we did a phone interview with me sat in the car.
He was very dull and I mean DULL! and after 15 minutes I started to say that it would be best if they went with someone who was immediately available because I wasn't. I emailed the agent to say thanks, but no thanks. I heard nothing for a week.
Agent has just emailed me. 'When can you start????'
Oh. Plus its at the end of my road.....Last edited by MarillionFan; 1 July 2010, 18:33.

Came across a perfect contract at the weekend. 1 mile from my house, 20% better rate than I am on, and a 100% perfect match with what my present contract is.
