I was in Iceland myself in Late Feb, Also trying to capture the Aurora - sadly for me it was too cloudly at the time - and this was 3 weeks before the Volcano started to eurupt.
Stull it is tornado season! I am off to Okclahoma on saturday....

Wonderful images
I'm not sure the volcano has any effect on the aurora, which is going about its business up in the ionosphere, but that's a beautiful conjunction of two of the most visually spectacular phenomena that are given away free with a place on this planet
