However, the company’s deteriorating relationship with its customers also played an important part in the management change after the company raised its maintenance fees by 5 per cent when Mr Apotheker took charge last July.
The company was forced into a u-turn after customers revolted at what were perceived to be arbitrary price rises that did not lead to a measureable improvement in performance.
SAP has also been accused of lacking a clear strategy for two years as it tries to adapt its business model away from signing up large customers to complex and lengthy contracts and towards smaller deals.
You'd think they could have mentioned that in the story
