    Another vote for Drummond street from me, much better than brick lane, and a short walk from where you are staying.

    BRick lane has gone downhill in recent years. It's aimed at tourists these days with barkers outside the restaraunts trying to tempt people inside.

    Used to go there regularly as a student as the Union Bar was a 2 minute walk away. Some of the best food I had there was in the transport cafe style places. Formical tables and flourescent lighting. This was 20 years ago now though

    There is a great collection of South Indian curry houses on Drumond St just behind (north) of Euston Square Tube. They have been there for years and get good reviews.

    Bear in mind though that they are vegetarian, though no less tasty for it!
